Le altre culture mi hanno sempre incuriosito, ci sta così tanto da conoscere.
Prendiamo ad esempio Ganesh qui in foto, sembra una semplice statua ma dietro ci sta una moltitudine di significati e storie.
Ganesh viene rappresentata mentre con una mano tiene la posizione Abhaya che indica protezione e rifugio, nell’altra invece tiene un dolce, il modaka, simbolo di realizzazione dell’io profondo. Inoltre regge un ankusha, ossia un pungolo per elefanti, e un pasha, ossia un nodo. Questi due oggetti simboleggiano come l’attaccamento al mondo terreno e ai desideri materiali siano degli inganni e delle trappole.
L'ampia pancia di Ganesh simboleggia quindi la generosità della natura e l'abilità della divinità di ingoiare le pene dell'universo, dando una vita felice e un mondo protetto dal male.
La testa di elefante poi è simbolo di forza e di grande spinta intellettuale.
